Lloyd William Wulf, American (1913-1965) Wulf was born in Avoca, Nebraska on September 2, 1913. Wulf studied at University of Nebraska and later continued his education at the California School of Fine Arts. He became a resident of San Francisco, California from the 1930s to the 1940s working for the Federal Art Project. He produced forty-two prints portraying social groups such as carnival figures, burlesque dancers, and evangelists. He was an active member of the San Francisco Art Association and he received the SFAA and San Francisco Museum Prailia Purchise Prize in 1937. Wulf exhibited at the San Francisco Art Association in 1937 and 1941, and De Young Museum in 1939. Wulf moved to South America, where he taught and worked from 1941 until 1960 in Quito, Ecuador. He died in November 1965 in Nebraska. |
